Battery Steele is a WWII-era fort on Peaks Island in Casco Bay. Built to protect Portland Harbor, it is now home to a protected nature preserve.
The walls of the fort have become a giant canvas for artistic expression, and the tunnels are a playground for exploration and adventure.
