Valparaíso, Chile, 2026
For my annual escape from New England Winter, I visited Valparaíso, Chile, a place known worldwide for its amazing art and mural scene. Roaming the city you see endless streetside paintings and splashes of color.
I really wanted to paint something in Valpo, so I asked around at local businesses if they’d be interested in doing a mural project. It was hard to even come by places that didn’t already have artwork on their walls, but luckily I stumbled upon Kumo Sushi just outside downtown, and the owner David was into the idea of painting the facade.
A few days later, Kumo Sushi looked completely different! Really grateful for this opportunity — I got to practice my Spanish and connect with good people while creating artwork in an amazing new city.
The last two photos in that gallery are from the inside of a crazy mall where the paint store was located. Retro futuristic!
